The goal of the program is to leverage open-source software development to increase the number of underrepresented minorities who enter careers as software engineers. Additional funding to support the program was provided by Expedia Group and Dell Technologies. The Atlanta University Center Consortium is comprised of four Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs): Clark Atlanta University, Morehouse College, Morehouse School of Medicine, and Spelman College.
