Talk:RIT/Laboratory principles and practices

There a couple of ideas that I think would be helpful to readers of this page:

  1. Make all of the sections bulleted or numbered lists like in the Literature and Wikis section of the page. Many of the concepts presented can be collapsed into much shorter statements.
I basically copied the text from the Jerry Bell's 1967 preface and introduction for the leading sections; but your comment demonstrates the change in writing and reading styles in 40+ years. I will make another adaptation following your suggestions while trying to preserve the original author's sentiments. Thank you for reviewing. --FGrose 02:54, 20 September 2009 (UTC)
  2. Under the "Tools" section a guide to some common open source licenses would be helpful in understanding some of the possible implications of working with an open source development project. Also, a guide to using wikis would be very helpful under this section.

I think we should add in the links discussed in the past classes under the Tools, Techniques, Totems, & Taboos section. Other than that its looking good.

I agree with what has been said by both Preston and Rohn, but other than adding those links and just organizing some of the information in a slightly nicer fashion, I think that the page does what it sets out to do. It explains how to look at Open-Source and the differences between it and a closed-source medium.

[edit] I agree... one suggestion on the wiki section

I think it would be helpful if we had a master class list or something in the rit page... Or have a place to update it so we can easily track other classmate's wiki contributions and projects.
