This wiki is part of the TeachingOpenSource.org initiative. It is powered by MediaWiki, the same software that is used on many large wiki sites. If you are familiar with using Wikipedia, you should feel at home here. If you're not familiar with this software, see the resource links provided below.
This site uses a "skin" or visual theme written by Paul Gu which is different from the default "Monobook" skin included in the Mediawiki software. The navigation normally present on the left-hand side of the page is now in pull-down menus at the top of the page, with a few of the links at the bottom (e.g., for Special Pages and privacy policy). The search box is at the very top of the page, and the controls for editing and viewing history are in the dark bar above.

If you're involved with or interested in teaching Open Source, please create an account and add information about yourself, your company or community, your Educational programs, your FOSS projects, and upcoming events.
After creating a wiki account, please update your User page (click your name at the top of any page in this wiki).

[edit] Interwiki Links
Interwiki links enable you to easily link from one wiki to another, and to transclude content from one wiki into pages on another wiki.
- To link to a page on another wiki, use the syntax:
[[:site-prefix:page-name]] - To transclude content from another wiki, use the syntax:
{{:site-prefix:page-name}}
This wiki is configured with the standard MediaWiki Interwiki table, which includes entries for popular wiki sources such as Wikipedia. This has been extended with these sites:
