[edit] Introductions

People present for this meeting:

  • richardb: Richard Boulton, Xapian.
  • stjepan: Stjepan Rajko, urbanSTEW, Rehearsal Assistant project
  • manus_eiffel: Emmanuel Stapf, EiffelStudio project

[edit] Scope of this Project

It was agreed that the position on "scope" agreed last meeting still made sense.

[edit] Outreach

No one has contacted people yet, but templates for letters have been made (at [1]) They probably still want a little more work, and one for direct contact with students should be written.

We discussed whether we should try and get a list of people to send a bulk message to, but this isn't a popular option. Instead,we will try and contact people we know, and encourage them to pass on the message to those that they know. The templates should be updated to that end.

If a list of people to contact was available, it would be useful to segment it by subject area if possible, so that people could contact those in a subject area relevant to their project. Including a sentence about a project involved which is relevant to the recipient is much more likely to make a good impact.

stjepan has added a template messages which just asks for feedback, to try and get people involved, and to build up a list of interested parties.

We will each try and contact a few teachers who we know personally over the next month (before the next meeting), and see how that goes.

[edit] Any Other Business

There was no other business raised.

[edit] Schedule Next Meeting

This will be in the week of 8th June (unless vigourous disagreement is voiced on the mailing list).

There is a poll at http://www.doodle.com/tiqy5wm23hnqkhbv to fill in to select a time; stjepan will close the poll on around the 1st June and mail the agreed time to the mailing list.
