[edit] Introductions

People present for this meeting:

[edit] Review Invitation Email to Teachers

Some suggestions:

* clarify "communities" to be "open source communities"
* clarify "for their student projects" to "for students' class or research projects" or "for their project-based classes or other student-led projects"
* talk about "you" and "your" rather than "professors" and "their"

The plan is for each of us to send these messages out to one or two professors we know, and report back to the mailing list with their feedback. We can update the template on the wiki as we improve the text in our own messages.

[edit] Review Invitation Email to Students

The plan is for those of us that know a student organization to send the letter out to them, and report back to the mailing list with their feedback.

[edit] Best Ways to Distribute Given Timing and Resources

There was discussion on setting up a (not publicly accessible) list of people that the emails have been sent to, to avoid sending letters to the same people multiple times.

[edit] Any Other Business

Next meeting will be between July 6th and July 9th. Please enter your availability using http://doodle.com/8zpzrtq528kiazv7 .

There was discussion on how to improve attendance, by improving scheduling / announcing the meeting time (using time-zone support in doodle, using http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/fixedform.html to announce), and through reminders to the mailing list.
